Discover Truly Safe Oral Care

Today, more and more people are paying close attention to the ingredients in everyday products, especially essentials like toothpaste that we use daily. Oral health is not just about maintaining a confident smile — it is deeply connected to our overall well-being.

When you take a closer look at the ingredients in a regular tube of toothpaste, you will notice that many listed ingredients are unnecessary. In truth, it doesn’t take a lot to effectively clean your teeth! Inspired by the Founder’s son, The Oil Company developed a kid-friendly toothpaste product line.

According to the New Jersey Department of Health, tetrasodium pyrophosphate can “severely irritate and burn the eyes, leading to permanent damage. Contact can irritate the skin.” This raises an important question: why are such ingredients, often marked with skull-and-crossbones warnings, allowed in products we and our children use daily?

Another common ingredient found in many commercial toothpastes is sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). The FDA has warned shampoo manufacturers about unacceptable levels of dioxins in products containing SLS. Researchers at the Medical College of Georgia have discovered that SLS can cause improper eye development in children.

Furthermore, SLS can react with other ingredients to form cancer-causing nitrosamines. Originally designed as an engine degreaser, SLS is a powerful compound — yet it is still widely used in personal care products for its foaming properties and as a cheap filler, often comprising 30–40% of a formula. It’s no wonder that returning to nature feels so refreshing!

A recent independent study conducted in the United States has revealed that up to 90% of commercially available toothpastes contain lead, along with other dangerous heavy metals. Several well-known brands were found to be affected.

According to The Guardian, lead exposure can cause cognitive impairment in children, damage kidney function, and increase the risk of heart disease. Furthermore, lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic are all classified as carcinogens.

Although the toothpastes found to contain lead still meet the current safety standards set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), public health advocates criticize these standards as “inadequate for true consumer protection.” In fact, federal agencies have previously acknowledged that any level of lead exposure is considered unsafe, regardless of concentration.

This alarming study serves as a strong reminder of how crucial it is to be mindful of the everyday oral-care products we choose. Toothpaste, a product that comes into direct contact with our mouths and blood vessels daily, must be safe and free from harmful substances. Choosing a toothpaste made with simple, natural, plant-based ingredients is no longer just a personal preference — it is a key decision in protecting the health of our families, especially our children.

Now is the time to switch to truly safe, trustworthy natural toothpaste options for you and your loved ones. Each of us bears responsibility for what we put into our bodies, and that includes using non-toxic products for daily care. Consider the thoughtfully selected ingredients in The Oil Company’s toothpaste: calcium carbonate, colloidal silver, zinc oxide, and essential oils of peppermint and spearmint — all chosen for their ability to support oral health. Additionally, ionic minerals and xylitol promote strong teeth and gums, while the signature essential oil blend (featuring Lemon, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary) helps support gum health. You can rest assured that when your children use this toothpaste, they are not exposed to harmful chemicals.

A Scary Fact

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), baby boomers will be the first generation in history where the majority will maintain their natural teeth throughout their lifetime, thanks to better education and improved product quality.

Yet, about 5% of adults aged 50–69 have lost all their teeth, requiring full dentures or implants. When you compare the modest cost of daily dental care with the significant cost of restorative dental procedures, choosing high-quality oral-care products becomes a critical investment.

A Real Fact

There is a rich network of blood vessels under the tongue, allowing substances to rapidly enter the bloodstream. This is why the ingredients in your oral-care products — and your children’s products — deserve careful selection.

A Mother’s Perspective

Choosing a toothpaste that is safe for children, even if accidentally swallowed, offers peace of mind that every parent deserves.

That is why it is so important to choose a trusted healthcare company — one that offers a range of toothpastes, dental floss, and refreshing mouthwash made with quality ingredients. Choose a company that refuses to use harmful fillers, synthetic ingredients, preservatives, or artificial dyes.

Because, after all, the old adage holds true: “You get what you pay for.”
